Our House

Here is the full exterior of our house, freshly painted with some brand new pretty windows.

Here is the staircase/two story entry way that greets you when you walk in

To the left of the front door is the “formal living room”.  We’re going to turn this into our game room someday…air hockey table, some paper lanterns, tall pub style table in the corner…it’s a ways down the road, but it’ll be cool.  I also love the crown molding in this room and the white trim.

To the right of the front door is the formal dining room.  I love the tray ceiling in the room.  The wood floor in here is in excellent shape.  I’m planning to paint the chandelier and remove the wall paper.  Since we’re kinda starting from scratch, we’re planning to add some wainscoting and maybe a round dining room table.  I’m envisioning this as a craft room/dining room in the long run.

Walking straight in the front door (not up the stairs) will lead you to the family room.  The door on the left is to the basement.  We painted the brick fireplace and updated the walls.  We have a long ways to go in here still, but we’re making progress.

This is the view standing on the fireplace looking the opposite way.  The door to the basement is on the right.  Eat in kitchen area is straight ahead, and then the kitchen after that.  The door to the patio is on the left.  The wood floors in there aren’t in great shape, we’re hoping a coat of poly will help a lot.

Closer look at the kitchen.  Laundry room is on the right.

Now we will head back to the foyer and then head up the stairs.

At the top of the stairs, if you turn left, there is the entrance to 2 of the 4 bedrooms.  (as show by Kirby the tour guide)
The entrance to the nursery is on the left.

The bedroom on the right is a light yellow and faces the back yard.  This will be our guest bedroom for now.

The yellow bedroom also connects to the bathroom.  There are a LOT of doors in a very small area…eventually, we’d love to replace the door into the bathroom with a nice pocket door.
The bathroom has 2 vanities (on of the left you can barely see) and then walks out to the hallway.  Behind me is a tub/shower combo and a toilet room.
At the top of the stairs if you look to the right, you will see the main bathroom entrance on the left, a linen closet on the right and then the entrance to the master bedroom (straight ahead) and the future office (on the left after the linen closet)
We LOVE the vaulted ceiling in this room and can’t wait to make it our bright and cheery office area.
Here is Lucy showing you the master bedroom.  It has tray ceilings, tall windows and a ton of space!

Master bathroom, double sinks, jacuzzi (and not pictured another toilet room and a shower).  Not a fan of this room, but hopefully a really good scrub down will help for now.
