This your public service announcement from DIYTheory. I learned about a pretty freaky website recently, call Spokeo. It catalogs everything about you from any available public source or social media site. In addition to your phone number, address, etc. the site pulls in your family members, your estimated economic value, and more.
The sort of good news? Most of the additional information is only available to subscribers of the site. The bad news, it’s $4.00 a month to subscribe and then anyone can see all of your personal information. I don’t know about you, but I’d prefer to not have people up in my business!
After some research, there are directions available to remove your information from this site. Just go to this link: http://www.spokeo.com/privacy, enter your email address and it removes your listing. I went through and did this for all the various addresses I’ve had over the years to remove me from the site.
::end of soap box::
Hope you are all having a fantastic Saturday! We’re doing some relaxing and more house projects…I’m so behind on blogging, can someone make more hours in the day pretty please!?!?!?!

Good luck getting your info removed. I’ve made the request repeatedly; probably 3 or 4 times, but every time I go back it’s all there again. I suspect the only sure way to get your info removed it to hire an attorney to demand they remove it.
Oh no! That’s really annoying….I keep checking and mine still seems to be off there. We’ll see how long it lasts!
